Search Engine Optimization
You may have a great site, but people need to be able to easily find it for your potential customers to see what you have to offer. There are various methods that can be used to get you registered with the major search engines. The problem is, just getting your site registered is not enough - if your site isn't listed high enough in the search result list, your traffic count will suffer. Getting your site listed higher in the search result list is the whole point of search engine optimization (SEO).
Search engines are always changing their technology so as to maintain their integrity. As a result, search engine optimization is a never ending process of tweaks and experimentation.
The Process
It starts out with analysis of your goals - what kind of traffic do you need? Is pay-per-click advertising appropriate to help achieve your goals? What is your SEO budget?
Keyword Analysis
Once your goals are understood, we go to work by analyzing the search keywords that will bring you the best traffic. Not just quantity - but quality traffic that fits your target market. This includes analyzing your competition's strategy in order to understand what it will take to put your site ahead of theirs. Your site's content will then be optimized, paying special attention to these keywords. If necessary, the URL's of the pages of the site will be moved to accommodate the keywords also.
Link building
The process of having other sites link to yours - is an important part of the optimization process. The more sites that link to you, typically the more "important" your site is regarded and the greater chance for it to rank higher.
Content
By far the most critical aspect is keeping the content of the site fresh and relevant. There are many ways to accomplish this, such as using blogs, newsletters, and creating interesting content that people want to link to.
Results Tracking
It's important to be able to track the results of your marketing methods and search engine optimization is no different. Visioneer will supply a monthly report to you detailing how visitors are getting to your site, what keywords they used to get there, whether or not they are converting into customers, and so on. This is a goldmine of information because it allows you quickly identify what works and what doesn't. In fact, we'll use this information ourselves to further optimize the site.
