Visioneer Consulting started as Roco Software back in the early 90's. While a lot has changed since then in terms of technology, our mission back then is really the same mission we have now: to deliver solutions to our customers that give them a positive return on their investment. There are many concepts that must come together to make that happen, such as:
- An understanding of the customer's needs
- Visually appealing designs, with great attention to detail
- Easy to use / easy to navigate sites
- Ensuring that your target audience can find your site
I take great care and responsibility to deliver on all of those concepts. Many of our competitors can deliver on one or two but rarely all.
My Background
Thanks to my 4th grade teacher, computers and programming have been my passion since age 10. When I was 18, I wrote a communications software package called QFront that helped people communicate on one of the first worldwide messaging networks, called FidoNet. The software was well received, selling hundreds of copies around the world and earning me 2 awards at a popular tradeshow. Writing this software was hugely beneficial to me to gain an understanding of the principles of good software design and most importantly, how to work with my customers to deliver features that mattered the most to them.
As Windows and the Internet gained popularity, a whole new world of opportunity presented itself. I graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in computer science, and began teaching myself Windows programming. I landed a consulting job and worked on many projects for a large local financial institution and other smaller companies.
During this time I also began teaching myself Internet programming and website design. Starting with small, brochure-type websites, I learned the ropes of the Internet and over time created more and more complex designs including a full-fledged custom e-commerce solution for a local client.
I have a passion for what I do. I take a personal interest in each customer and each project, and the results show it!
